You will be based at our client on the west coast of Sweden. Our client is a European research and development organisation working on next-generation vehicle architectures, digital technologies, and intelligent systems. This is a longterm, full-time assignment.
📝 JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for a Category Buyer for Professional Services. You will manage sourcing and purchasing activities in accordance with company processes and policies for selected service categories, including HR services, facility services, legal services, and other professional services. The role includes developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, and acting as a Purchasing Business Partner for designated departments. The main objective is to secure the best overall value, quality, and contractual terms from external service providers.
✅ REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
Minimum five years of experience in purchasing, including at least three years in a service category.
Good knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions, manage different stakeholder needs, and maintain relationships with external suppliers.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review spending data, cost breakdowns, supplier proposals, and business requirements.
Solid understanding of commercial terms, statements of work, contract structures, and basic risk mitigation principles.
Experience from service categories, such as professional services, corporate services, facility services, HR services, or similar areas.
Fast learning ability, to quickly understand business needs and historical background, supplier markets, and internal processes, and to convert this knowledge into effective purchasing actions with limited onboarding time.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

The role requires a proactive, accountable, open-minded, and solution-oriented approach, together with the ability to adapt to a fast-changing industry, evolving corporate priorities, and increasingly digital sourcing tools. You should also demonstrate resilience and strong influencing skills when managing high-stakes commercial contract negotiations and enforcing Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
