You will be based at our client on the west coast of Sweden. Our client is a European research and development organisation working on next-generation vehicle architectures, digital technologies, and intelligent systems. This is a longterm, full-time, on-site studio assignment.
📝 JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for a Studio Engineer (exterior/interior) to be the bridge between design and engineering in the studio. You are the voice of design in engineering discussions, and you translate engineering and legislative requirements into design possibilities.
Examples of major tasks:
Communicate design intents and needs within engineering.
• Translate engineering requirements into design possibilities.
• Transfer and describe engineering and key legislative requirements to design.
• Generate feasible solutions for technically challenging areas.
• Manage and document agreements between design and engineering.
• Understand design intent and contribute technical solutions that drive development in the design direction.
• Document feasibility of design themes and raise critical issues.
• Help set up design clay models with regard to standing heights, wheel positions, seating positions, etc.
Tools: CATIA V5 (solid and surface), Teamcenter (Author), MS Office, Jira.
✅ REQUIREMENTS
• Complete vehicle engineering knowledge for both interior and exterior.
• Complete understanding of the vehicle development process.
• Very good CATIA and Teamcenter experience (solid and surface; Teamcenter Author).
• Technical university degree or equivalent, with +10 years solid working experience from the automotive industry.
• Extensive automotive product concept and component engineering experience on aesthetically sensitive areas. Experience working in a design studio is merited.
• Understanding of engineering and validation processes for vehicle components and systems.
• Working knowledge of component manufacturing, tooling requirements and lead times.
• Available for on-site work on the west coast of Sweden, longterm full-time (100%).
💫 YOUR PROFILE
Leadership skills with the ability to work individually and in cross-functional teams, and to take a leading role. Highly effective and productive. Excellent communication and teamwork. Fluent English required; Mandarin is merited. Able to travel to China on occasion (must be able to obtain a Chinese visa). Comfortable performing the work in a design studio environment.
